oxen: a singular plural
I have written before about oxen oxen oxen spray-painted on the sidewalk outside the Smith’s store.
But here—just a few blocks way—only one oxen.
A singular plural. A contradiction.
All alone, oxen fails to cast its spell.
What to blame? The medium or the missing oxen?
[...] of this as the only permanent oxen tag — not spray paint, not a sticker, not wheat paste, not stencil. [...]
